Route Description
CLASSIC COURSE
After about 700 meters from the start the route presents the first ascent that will lead to the Torre Beregna pass: 5.4km at an average gradient of 3.5% may suggest an easy ascent but this is not the case. In fact it can be classified as a 3rd category climb that we must divide and analyze in two sections: the first 1.3km to 7.8% average (max 13.7%) and a second 1.9km section to 5.8 % average (max 8.2%) interspersed with a slight descent. Surely there will be the first selection of the group and it will be necessary to warm up very well to face this first ascent in the best way. At 6,100 km from the road there will be the pass and the descent will start towards Villa d’Aria, then Castel S. Venanzo and finally Serrapetrona interspersed with short ups and downs. Leaving Serrapetrona there will be a brief tear of about 600 meters at 8% average before continuing to descend definitively towards Caccamo where, at about km 21.300, you will turn left towards Belforte del Chienti and you will face about 3km of plain.

At approximately 24.450 km, when you reach Belforte del Chienti, you will turn right towards Camporotondo di Fiastrone and begin the second climb that will lead you to Morichella: 11.23km at an average 2% gradient. This climb does not have any particular gradients and will also lend itself to sustained strides. Along the ascent, at about km 29 there will be the first refreshment point in Camporotondo while at km 31 there will be the separation of the routes (keep right for the Classic route) while at about km 36 the climb will end.

At km 36.240 you will turn right and enter the beautiful Fiastrone valley: look around and enjoy the view in one of the most beautiful valleys of the Sibillini Park.

At km 37.300 the third ascent will begin which will lead to the Monastero and the pass towards the dam of Lake Fiastra: third category ascent, 8.6 km long with an average 3.3% gradient. Challenging climb, it will certainly offer fertile ground for possible attacks and skimmings of the group. At km 46.700 a descent of about 3km will start to the dam and then continue with a false floor to the village of San Lorenzo al Lago.

At km 53,420 the fourth climb will begin that will lead to Fiegni: fourth category ascent, 5.4km long with an average gradient of 2.7%. This ascent can be divided into three sections: a first tear of 600 meters at 7.6% average at the end of which there will be a brief but quick descent, followed by a false floor of about a kilometer, before starting a second stretch climb of about one kilometer to 6.3%; then there will be a short flat section of about 600 meters and then the last stretch of about 1.5km to 6.3%. Once in Fiegni there will be the first refreshment point which will be followed by a flat section up to km 62.700 where the descent to Polverina will begin.

At km 70.230 the descent will end, it will turn to the left and begin a flat section along about 9km that will lead to the village of Pievetorina where it will turn to the right.

At km 80,200 the fifth ascent of Pintura di Ciglia will begin: second-class ascent, 9.1km long with an average gradient of 4.3%. It is a climb that has regular slopes, with two more challenging sections and is inserted in a beautiful and picturesque valley. About halfway up the slope there will be the refreshment point (fraz. Le Rote) while at km 89.15 there will be the pass and, after a short descent of about 1.5km, in the Taverne locality it will turn to the right and a flat section will begin which will lead to Fonte delle Mattinate (km 128,900) where a water point (fountain) will be available before going down again for about 11km to Muccia.

At km 106.74 it will turn to the left and the sixth climb will begin, that of the Muccia pass: ascent of the fourth category, of 2.5km of length to 4.5% of average gradient. The pass is located at about km 109.280 which will be followed by a descent of about 2.5 km.

At km 111.89 there will be the last climb, the one that will lead to Camerino: a fourth category ascent of 2.2km long with an average gradient of 4.5%. The pass is located at km 114,000 and after about a kilometer there will be the arrival.

Along the ascent, at about km 29 there will be the first refreshment point in Camporotondo while at km 31 there will be the separation of the routes (keep left for the Marathon route); at km 36,460 there will be the pass which will be followed by about 3,5km of descent at the end of which you will turn left and continue on the plain for a further 1km before turning right.

At km 41.420, the third climb will begin, which will take us to Gualdo, which will be around 10.3km long at an average gradient of 2.2%. This rise is composed of three tears interspersed with descents: the first section of the 4th category of 1.97km at 6.3% average, the second section of the 3rd category of 2.46km at 8.7% average and the third section in the 4th category of 1.1km at 6.7% average. At approximately 51.700 km there will be the pass and the descent to Sarnano will begin.

At km 58.00 the ascent symbol of the granfondo will begin, Sassotetto: a real alpine path in the heart of the Apenninis, it is a climb to Hors Catégorie, very demanding both in terms of length (12.89 km the timed section) and slope (average 7.4%; max 13.1%). This ascent will offer breathtaking views that should be enjoyed. At km 71,700, at 1,445 meters above sea level, there will be the pass and refreshment point, which will be followed by a long and fast descent of approximately 15.7km.

At km 87.400 the fifth climb will start that will lead to Fiegni: fourth category ascent totaling 5.4km in length to 2.7% average gradient. This ascent can be divided into three sections: a first tear of 600 meters at an average 7.6%, a second stretch of about 1km at an average of 6.3% and a third section of about 1.5km at 6.3%. Once in Fiegni there will be the third restaurant which will be followed by a flat section up to km 96.650 where the descent to Polverina will begin.
At km 104.130 the descent will end, it will turn to the left and begin a flat section along about 9km that will lead to the village of Pievetorina where it will turn to the right.

At km 113,900 the sixth ascent of Pintura di Ciglia will begin: second-class ascent, 9.1km long with an average gradient of 4.3%. It is a climb that can be pedaled smoothly, with two stretches that are more challenging and inserted into a beautiful and picturesque valley. About halfway up the slope there will be a refreshment point (fraz. Le Rote) while at km 123.040 there will be the pass and, after a short descent of about 1.5km, in the Taverne locality it will turn to the right and a flat section will begin which will lead to Fonte delle Mattinate location (km 128,900) where a water point (fountain) will be available before going down again for about 11km up to Muccia.

At approximately km 140.580 it will turn to the left and the seventh ascent, that of the Muccia pass, will begin: a fourth category ascent 2.5km long with an average gradient of 4.5%. The pass is located at about km 143,120 which will be followed by a descent of about 2,5km.

At km 145.910 there will be the last climb, the one that will lead to Camerino: a fourth category ascent of 2.2km long with an average gradient of 4.5%. The pass is set at km 147.940 and after about a kilometer there will be the arrival.
